KURT SCHAEFER
Former Missouri State Senator
No one can match Kurt Schaefer’s deep knowledge of Missouri’s budget or legislative process. As a two-term Missouri State Senator, Kurt served an unprecedented six years as Appropriations Chair and passed more than 100 pieces of legislation. He earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in 1990 from the University of Missouri, and J.D. and M.S.L. degrees in 1995 and 1996 from Vermont Law School. With a legal career spanning more than two decades in both the public and private sectors, Kurt works with governmental entities at every level, including all branches of government, state agencies, numerous boards and citizen commissions, and members of both major political parties. He has litigated cases in courtrooms throughout Missouri and has developed excellent professional relationships with attorneys and judges across the state. He is also a partner in Lathrop GPM’s Jefferson City office.
